When attempting to understand how colorless green ideas started one has to go to the sources closest to the initial epicenter. Like all epicenters looks can be deceiving and many will not notice the cracks on the surface. But there is indeed a center to all this and when one finds it one had better observe it for more than just a few glances.
The confounding nature of this problem has been universal and shows (only lately) signs of being faced up to honestly. It didn't happen yesterday and it won't be solved tommorrow. In fact, this could go on for another forty years easily. For fourteen hundred years it has had an adaptability and seeming flexibility to not be fully understood by even it's most ardent believers. Professionals and academics of every type have gone to lengths to praise it to the skies yet few have called the Emperor on it's new clothes.
In our thrownness we haven't been able to understand fully the allure of the images of community and sense of purpose that seems to guide it's believers and draw in new converts. That's about to end but it will be an incremental process that isn't without pain. So begins this quest. To understand a totalitarian system of thought control via many an avenue and in which even the dead ends need to be combed over in much the same way a forensic investigator will look at a crime scene.
